Kara Johnson

Co-Founder

Kara is a Part 107 Unmanned Aircraft General FAA Pilot with 20+ years of experience in product development, technical sales, and patent and prototype engineering. An innovative, forward-thinking engineer, she has applied process improvements across aviation, automotive, thermal solar, injection molding, and pulp and paper industries. Her expertise includes working at Fortune 500 companies such as Chrysler Automotive, Dow Chemical, and General Electric. Kara holds patented technology in mobile aviation charging solutions.


Her passion for aviation is shared with her family: her husband, Terry, earned his pilot license at 15, and their two daughters hold engineering degrees—one in Biomedical Engineering at Florida State University with a Masters in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from University of Southern California, and the other in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Florida with a Masters in Global Business from Pepperdine University—while both work toward earning their pilot licenses.
